Long standing customer, Alwin Limited has taken delivery of their new DAF XF 530 FAW. This is the third XF rigid chassis which the West Midlands family business has added to their fleet, all of which have been supplied by their local DAF dealer Motus Commercials Halesowen.
Normally available as a CF, this ultra-rare truck has been specified with an XF cab on an 8x4 rigid chassis. Built by special order, the XF comfort cab offers a large living space for the driver whilst still providing a low roof for easier access when loading. An important addition to the vehicle specification is the 10-tonne front axle, offering more capacity over the front end whilst the vehicle is loaded.
David Rowlingson, Managing Director at Alwin Limited comments, “We’ve continually purchased DAF’s for our fleet as we trust the brand and the superb back-up we get from our local dealer Motus Commercials Halesowen is an important consideration. We chose the XF cab as our drivers do a lot of long-distance work and a larger cab with all the features that come with it provides the ultimate driver comfort.”
Rowlingson continues, “The truck is a head turner out on the road and the tridem chassis with double driven 1360 tandem axle provides ultimate traction when operating off-road. The unique configuration, featuring an additional steered trailing axle and optional fitted automatic lifting device, improves the overall turning circle for better manoeuvrability and access. This also saves fuel and decreases tyre wear when the vehicle is empty or lightly loaded, lowering our overall operating costs.”
The DAF XF 530 FAW has also been fitted with a Hiab Multilift hook loader and Multilift Hook Top Sheeter, as well as: LED headlights, Truck Nav and Air Horns, making it stand out amongst the fleet.
Ray Gayle, Head of Truck Sales at Motus Commercials Halesowen, concludes “We are delighted to be able to deliver such a unique and specialised vehicle to Alwin Limited and to be continuing our working relationship with them. Their new DAF XF has been built with both operator and driver in mind and certainly looks the part on the roads. We wish them all the best with their new vehicle.”
